12/06/11 One of the symptoms of depression is isolating and withdrawing from others. When socially engaged through volunteering or helping another, there is less likelihood of isolation. Anyone can elevate their mood with a simple act of service. You have something meaningful to give, and when you do that you feel better about yourself!
