7/31/15 Indifference doesn't do justice to the amazing blessings life offers to us every day. Hope is the ingredient in possibilities. Without hope, we may become indifferent or despairing. Hope is essential when we feel overwhelmed by events. Despair can spiral into emotional paralysis. Have faith in the God of hope and love.
7/30/15 Maturity is choosing the path to long term happiness over immediate pleasure. Taking the time to figure out what matters most will be time well-spent. Everything else will fall into place around it. If we give ourselves fully to life, answers will come in due time. Seek God's guidance and live in the purpose of service.
7/29/15 Once we acknowledge that we are all connected in this journey of life, we start to have compassion for our fellow sojourners. We realize that we are all sharing the same basic desire to be happy. It is our birthright to be happy. If we seek for it, God gives us rest and the peace that passes all understanding. To love and be loved are true paths to joy.
7/28/15 There is never enough time to do everything, but living in the past is a big waste of what time we do have. Finding peace is often found in striking a balance between learning from yesterday and imagining the successes of tomorrow. Regret, fear, and guilt ruin the present so let God take care of today. Wrap the present with love.
7/27/15 Character, not circumstances, makes a person. Life may throw us some curve balls, but it is our behavior during the "pitch" that counts most. The world cares little about what a person knows. It's what a person does with what they know that makes the difference. We can exert strength by pushing down or pulling up.
7/26/15 There is great value in adversity. Challenges build the muscles that cause every decision to either strengthen or weaken us. Success can be measured not by our position, but by what obstacles we have had to overcome while choosing to succeed. Out of the struggle comes strength and confidence not otherwise acquired along the smooth pathway.
7/25/15 Every action we take today affects the lives of someone else. We are all connected to one another through our actions. Our decisions to act or not to act (to help or not to help) create a ripple effect that can last for centuries. A person who is acting upon an idea is happy, but someone who only intends to do something deepens their well of regret.
7/24/15 Happiness is gained by helping others. In turn, we help ourselves. Asking ourselves questions like, What are our talents, gifts, and strengths? Our core beliefs? If we could change one thing in our lives, what would it be? How do we want to be remembered is another good question, and Are we living that way now?
7/23/15 Writing a mission statement of our goals and objectives is a good practice for expanding our focus in life. It can help us reclaim a sense of meaning and answer, "why are we here?" Purpose isn't a goal as much as a direction we take. Consistent purpose doesn't make our life happy, but it may be an indispensable condition to staying content with what we have.
7/22/15 A happy life takes direction from the heart. Purpose gives our lives shape and direction. Fulfilling our mission on earth includes joyful service to one another. Don't lose an opportunity to expand the possibilities by stepping into a greater awareness of why we are here at this particular time in history. God is the author and finisher, but we do the footwork for a happy destiny.
